Woman Willing to Move Entire Life to Korea After Getting Pregnant on the First Date
Reality show “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” recently introduced its latest couple, Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee, to its viewers.
Clegg is a 22-year-old single mom based in Salt Lake City, while Lee is a 29-year-old used phone dealer from South Korea.
In the episode shown Monday, the couple has been together for about eight months at the time of the shoot, although they’ve only spent a total of three and a half weeks together in person.
The pair hit it off immediately after meeting on an international dating app, talking daily for about three months until Lee decided it was time for him to visit Clegg in Utah.
According to Clegg, they spent the first night together. On the day Lee was set to return to Korea, she discovered that she was pregnant.
“The day Jihoon was actually leaving for Korea, I did not feel good,” she recalled. “Six positive tests later, I’m pregnant. I instantly assumed I’d never see Jihoon again.”
When she eventually heard back from Lee, he suggested that they get married.
“In Korean culture, it is super important for the parents to give their blessing,” Clegg shared. “If I’m not up to Jihoon’s parents’ standards and they think I’m not good enough for their son, we can’t get married.”
Clegg went to South Korea to meet Lee’s parents, who found her to be “quiet and unhappy.”
She noted that they weren’t so keen on her tattoos since tattoos are pretty taboo in South Korea.
At the end of the episode, Clegg is shown to be seven months pregnant and planning to move to Lee’s hometown with her 3-year-old daughter and a new baby when the infant turns seven weeks old.
According to Distractify, Lee and Clegg are still together as a couple and have already welcomed their first child together in May.
Lee also gave Clegg an engagement ring, which she shared on her Instagram account.
