Simon Gregson has opened up about the moment his wife was left fighting for her life after she suffered a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.
The Coronation Street star, 43, described his partner Emma as being ‘two hours away from death’ after she was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery last September.
The actor also revealed his decision to have a vasectomy, as the couple candidly talked to OK! about their 12 devastating miscarriages.

The couple, who are proud parents to sons, Alfie, 10, Harry, eight, and Henry Teddy, two, made the decision to not have any more children after Emma’s near-death encounter.
‘They told me Emma would’ve died if it had been left for a few more hours’, Simon told the publication. ‘She was literally two hours away from death.’
Emma, who was unaware she was pregnant at the time and blamed stomach pain on constipation, feared she would never see her three sons again.
She said: ‘As they were taking me down to theatre I just kept thinking, I’m going to die – this is it, I’m not going to make it.

‘As they were prepping me for surgery I had to keep signing lots of forms. I just felt devastated and so overwhelmed. It was the most frightening time I’ve ever had.
‘I was petrified. I thought I was never going to see my sons ever again.’
‘I think as Emma has come so close to death, that’s it for us.’ Simon said. ‘We originally thought Emma couldn’t carry girls, but she so desperately wanted a little girl.
‘I would love her to have one – but now, after nearly losing her, I’m going in and having the snip.’
Their latest heartache comes after Simon announced he suffered 11 miscarriages on Twitter last January after a cruel troll approached his wife.

Simon, was is in the midst of a Coronation Street storyline in which his character Steve McDonald, was faced with his partner Michelle Connor suffering a stillbirth.
The plot lead to a mass of controversy from fans with some turning their attention to his personal life.
In his retaliation to the online comments, he wrote: ‘To the £&)(; who tweeted my wife. We’ve lost 11 baby’s 1st being 21 weeks 4 days. Maybe think or do your research before tweeting someone. (sic)
Emma previously divulged limited information about their tragedy after losing Teddy’s twin in the early stages of pregnancy, saying: ‘Sadly only one of the twins survived. We’re very lucky to have this one.’
