“I will get only a week off from work this time,” says Shahid Kapoor about his paternity leave

by pregnancy journalist

Shahid Kapoor is all set to become a father for the second time and honestly, we can’t for the pictures. Yes, we are suckers for babies and their pictures. Haven’t you seen Misha’s cute little antics? Coming back to the point, Shahid is most definitely more psyched than we are, for obvious reason and he wants to do it the right way- right by Mira’s side! In fact, we had earlier reported as to how he is planning to take a paternity leave and wrap work commitments before baby no 2 is here. But as it turns out, unfortunately, it won’t be a long break for Sasha. In fact, as per Mid Day, the actor who is currently busy promoting his next, Batti Gul Meter Chalu and has begun his prep for the Hindi remake of Telugu hit, Arjun Reddy, will be away only for a week. He said the same publication, “During Misha’s birth [in 2016], I took a couple of months off. This time too, I was negotiating to take a month-long break, but things didn’t work out. I will get only a week off from work. It is too short a duration, but such are the circumstances.” He also explained how it is always about striking a balance between work and home.“I am self-employed, so I think I have more freedom [to take leaves as per my convenience]. If I don’t want to work for a certain period, I can do that. Having said that, life is all about finding the right balance,” he added.

Talking about Arjun Reddy remake, Shahid told PTI, “Arjun Reddy’ is in the preparation stage. We will start shooting for it around October 1. The first thought I had in mind was why are we remaking it. It is too perfect. But then after spending sometime with the script I thought this character is so exciting I want to give it a try.”
