Dancing on Ice star Caprice helps celebrate working mums during Leicester visit – Leicestershire Live
Supermodel and recent Dancing on Ice competitor Caprice was the very special guest at a night celebrating the world’s working mums.
The globe-trotting celebrity picked up an award and presented another at the Mums in Business Association event in Leicester.
Supporters from not just the UK, but other parts of the world, attended the night at the Athena.
The Mums in Business Association was launched in June 2017 after sisters Estelle Keeber, from Leicester, and Leona Burton, who lives in Spain, saw the struggles and obstacles many mums face running their own businesses.
They set about creating a way that members could gather, support each other and network online and in person.
They now oversee a network of groups and events across the world which they say has more than 220,000 members.
The Leicester awards night included a lingerie catwalk show, supported by Anne Summers, promoting a positive body image.
Estelle has always said that she and her sister wanted to embrace and empower women of all shapes and sizes and it was great to get Caprice’s support.
She said: “Caprice gave an inspirational speech which was incredible, and she also won an award for Celeb Mum of the Year – Commonwealth boxing champ Paige Murney attended to present it.
“I launched the association with my sister because we wanted to create a safe and supportive community for women to get together and talk about being in business – everything from being a mum through to time management and setting up websites and social media.
“Knowing that we are supporting thousands of women across the world is an incredible feeling. Huge thanks to everyone who makes it possible.”
Leona said: “We put in months of planning, and the awards were a huge success. We could not have asked for more.”
